any ideas on which to get or any suggestions on other 2b sticks I could buy in the £10 region
Hello Alex :
I've been a drummer for 45 yrs. Here's my choice for drum sticks :- Regal Tip by Calato. 7A or heavier is probably what you're looking for. One pair shouldn't cost 10 pounds. If you need to drum loud in a rock band, then, you should go with a fat, heavy drum stick. 7A is kinda light, but, fast. All Regal Tip sticks have a white or black plastic tip ... which makes for lots of bounce. I've always found that Regal Tips have a long durability.
As far as cymbals go, you can't beat Zildjian. (Well, you can beat them with a drum stick).
Always feels good answering questions about music ... drumming, guitars or singing.

Songs from the Wood was the first Tull album to receive unambiguously positive reviews since the time of Thick as a Brick. Filled with folk and fantasy imagery, and ornamental folk arrangement, the album is a departure from the hard rock of earlier Tull material. The album reached #8 on the Billboard album chart, making it the last top ten album for the band to date. The song "The Whistler" was the only song to chart as a single in the US, peaking at #59 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the spring of 1977. This is the first Jethro Tull album to feature keyboardist David Palmer as an official band member. The song "Jack-In-The-Green" features Ian Anderson on all the instruments. When performing the title track in concert, the intricate harmonies of the introductory verse are usually lip-synched by the entire band.[citation needed] The 2003 remastered edition includes a pair of bonus tracks, featuring a live rendition of "Velvet Green".
